Kimbla-Mantana African Safaris is a long established company, specializing in private, up-market safaris with traditional, luxury mobile camping, small exclusive lodges and private wildlife areas. Our emphasis is very much on personal service and in dealing directly with our clients since we understand that each of our clients has their own needs and interests. With an enviable reputation, over 45 years of experience in arranging and running safaris, and our own infrastructure in East Africa, we are confident that we can accommodate your requirements.
By choosing to go on safari with Kimbla-Mantana, you will experience a safari that many can only dream of, spontaneous and devoid of timetables, with personal attention in remote and beautiful places, with few other tourists and plenty of wildlife. Our private concessions, apart from giving our safaris the freedom of privacy and exclusivity, also allow us to engage in activities like walking or night driving and have been chosen for their prime wildlife locations.

Mobile luxury camping is one of the few indulgences that still exists for the truly experienced traveler who wishes to experience East Africa as it was in the days of the explorers, -  ancient and unspoilt.
Meru National Park is best known for Elsa, the lioness of Joy Adamson’s Born Free. Meru has been Kenya’s best kept secret for many years and has a variety of landscapes and habitats – forest, swamp, savannah divided by many streams and rivers all rising from the foothills of Mt. Kenya and the Nyambene Hills, ending in the mighty Tana River forming a natural boundary to the south. With herds of elephant and northern
species such as Grevy’s zebra, oryx, and reticulated giraffe, one can observe animals without being disturbed by another soul. Lion and leopard are also found here. The riverine forests are a birders’ paradise providing refuge for many rare localized species. The swamps of Meru are home to most of Meru’s 5,000 buffalo, sometimes seen in herds of more than 200. Lesser kudu, gerenuk, and cheetah can be found along with hippo and crocodile within the Tana River area.
Loisaba Ranch is the same size as the Ngorongoro Crater and larger than many of Kenya’s principal national parks. To the north lie the grassy plains of the Laikipia Plateau; to the south, the plateau breaks into valleys, cliffs and escarpments that frame stunning views up to the snows of Mount Kenya. The wilderness is a haven for more than 250 species of birds and 50 species of wildlife. Alongside elephant, buffalo, Grevy’s zebra, and greater kudu, the area is rapidly gaining a reputation for exceptional big cat sightings. Even wild dog, thought for many years to be extinct in the northern region, now appear to be coming back to the area. Situated right in the heartland of the nomadic Samburu and Laikipiak Masai people, Loisaba also offers a rare insight into cultures, traditions, and a way of life that has stood the test of time.
Masai Mara Game Reserve is one of the best known and popular reserves in the whole of Africa and undoubtedly the finest wildlife area in Kenya. Seasoned safari travelers, travel writers, documentary makers, and researchers often admit that the Masai Mara is one of their favorite places. All of the big five game is here: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino.Other commonly sighted species
include: cheetah, zebra, wildebeest, Thompson’s gazelle, Defassa waterbuck, eland, Masai giraffe, and topi. From approximately July to October, you will be privy to the great migration occurring in Masai Mara, where two million wildebeest, half a million zebra, and a quarter million gazelle roam the plains with all the big predators in tow. Masai Mara is home to over one hundred species of mammals and more than 450 species of birds.
