East Africa Safari itinerary

Day 01 - INTERNATIONAL – Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive via overnight flight in Nairobi, where you will be met and taken to the historic Norfolk Hotel for an overnight stay. Norfolk Hotel
Day 02 - Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
You will have an early departure this morning for Amboseli National Park. Located on the Tanzanian border, Amboseli is one of the most scenic of Kenya’s wildlife reserves. Every vista is dominated by the majestic, snow-capped peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain. Private Luxury Camp, B, L, D
Day 03+04 - Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park has some of the highest densities and diversity of wildlife in Africa and is one of the best reserves in Africa for elephant viewing. You will spend the next two days exploring the park, visiting a Masai Manyatta (village) and a Masai school, enjoying a bush walk, a Masai dance, and sundowners with views of Kilimanjaro glowing pink in the sunset. Day 05 -Amboseli – Tarangire National Park, Tanzania
This morning you will drive to Tanzania. Your destination is Tarangire National Park, second only to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area in concentrations of wildlife during the dry season. The Tarangire Treetops Camp features tree houses facing the Tarangire Sand River, a favorite waterhole for the large elephant population. Tarangire Treetops Camp, B, L, D
Day 06 - Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Prior to driving to Serengeti National Park, you will visit Olduvai Gorge, world famous for the archaeological discoveries made there by Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey.

Day 07+08 - Serengeti National Park
You will spend the next two days exploring the incredible savannahs and the kopjes of Tanzania’s largest national park. The Serengeti, covering 5,700 square miles, is roughly the size of Connecticut. The park offers exceptional year round game viewing, and regardless of when you travel, both resident and migratory animals can be found due to the size and nature of the park. Day 09 - Serengeti – Entebbe, Uganda
Today you will spend exploring this natural wonder of the world with its scenic grandeur and stunning views. There are 25,000 larger animals within the crater itself, mostly zebra and wildebeest. However, this is undoubtedly the best place to see black rhino in Tanzania, as well as prides of lion that include the magnificent black-maned males. Ngorongoro Lodge, B, L, D
Day 10 - Entebbe – Kibale National Park
You will have an early departure this morning for Kibale National Park, famous for its enormous variety of primates and families of habituated chimpanzees – it is home to an astonishing 13 species of primate and provides one of the highest primate densities in the world. An afternoon visit to the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary and guided walk around the Magombe Swamp provides you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna including primates, mammals and over 138 species of birds.

Day 11 - Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning you will search for families of chimpanzees and other primates in the Kibale Forest. Kibale, with ancient trees up to 180 feet in height, is a wonderful place to experience the extraordinary diversity of life in a tropical rainforest. Afterwards, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s second largest National Park. An afternoon launch trip on the Kazinga Channel will allow you to experien-

Day 12 - Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Prior to driving to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will visit the Bat Cave in the Maramagamba Forest. This incredible cave is home to thousands of Egyptian fruit bats. Kimbla-Mantana Bwindi Camp, B, L, D
Day 13+14 - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Both days will be spent visiting the home of half the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking is the experience of a lifetime and one that is never forgotten.

Day 15 - Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park
This morning you will depart for Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo has the largest herds of eland in East Africa. An afternoon boat trip to the local fishing village provides ample opportunity to view over 300 different species of birds that habituate this park.

Day 16 - Lake Mburo – Entebbe – USA or Canada
Today you will return to Entebbe and The Boma, where day rooms are reserved for you until your international flight out this evening. The Boma Dayroom, B, L
